Food and Farm Council of Riley County and City of Manhattan

Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Assistance

This volunteer assistance program runs each year late April through early June. Trained community volunteers help low-income Seniors complete forms to apply for produce vouchers through the USDA funded Kansas Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program. They also explain program eligible items, dates and times of the local Farmers Market of Downtown Manhattan and use of a proxy shopper. The program provides $50 of coupons to purchase fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey from authorized farmers at Kansas Farmers Markets June-September 15th. Plus the Market DOUBLES the amount!
